Received as an apology from a business. I love Harry and David items, so I was won over and apologies were accepted.
My only comment is about the Crater Lake Crunch included in the basket. I must have gotten an old package, because the granola was chewey - not crunchy, and the banana chips had no flavor at all. Actually the only item in the entire mix with any flavor were the blueberries. I was looking for an expiration date on the package, and there is some number stamped on it, but it is smudged and unreadable - maybe that's why it was not pulled from stock when it might have expired? The only other marking is a sticker on the back that says 1591 SF MSD1. Not sure it that helps, but it may prevent you from dispensing this to others.
Also included was the double crunch granola - now that rocks!!!

I can't speak for the gifts I sent this year, but I can comment on the Harry and David gifts I personally received from others. I must say I was somewhat disappointed. In the past the fruits have been spectacular. Perfectly ripened, sweet, very good. This year, the fruit I received was consistently mediocre. The pears were as if they had been frozen or something, they just weren't right. I willing to give H and D another try though because they were so good in the past. If they don't turn out this time though, I don't think I'll purchase from them again.

Shipping is expensive and far too slow. Pears were already over ripened and mealy. I could have gotten better at my local super market. The dried fruit/nuts were extremely skimpy. The basket felt cheap despite being [$]. Honestly, you are paying more for the basket than anything else.

I sent this to my son in college. I send him fruit from Harry and David often. He loved the granola but the pears are still not ripe after a week. Not as impressed as I usually am with your product.
